Burials And Cremations
The Church of England has a duty to provide funeral services for their parishioners if they wish and if the executors of the deceased have specified. Many country churchyards remain open for burials or the Interment of Cremated Remains.

One factor to consider is that Municipal Cemeteries may have limited space if the deceased was not a resident. In certain circumstances, fees can quickly escalate but with over 20 years' experience in the industry, our friendly team will be able to advise you on the options available to you.

In today's day and age, the options available for funerals have increased dramatically in recent years, as trends continue to change and evolve. With the public having access to enable increased awareness of present practises, funerals are still not discussed in great length.

In modern society, eco-friendly, green funerals; woodland burials; civil ceremonies and cardboard coffins all have their place although traditional procedures remain dominant.

As a team of independent funeral directors at Exmouth & District Funeral Services, we are able to offer you the time to make informed decisions in regards to the choices available. It must be noted however that in reality, a tight time-frame is often required with crematoria, doctors, the clergy or other celebrants involved throughout the process.

For a number of reasons, a funeral service is an extremely important event for all involved: it has a significant role in our grief and bereavement 'journey', which may or may not be apparent at the time.

A funeral service also recognises the importance of an individual who has affected our lives in some way and provides us with the chance to not only take note of these factors, but to thank and wish them well on their journey, whatever our beliefs.

If you would like more information on Burials and Cremation, please do hesitate to get in touch with our team here at Exmouth & District Funeral Services who will be more than happy to help.
